The effect of horror movies to your brain.



    Some people find fun watching horror movies while some feel scary watching it. But, let's first explain what our mind does while watching a horror movie. Most people happen to have an arousal of their sympathetic nervous system and an activation yo produce adrenaline.
   The Emotion Theory can make some people find movie fun while some find it terrifying. The Emotion Theory states that our interpretation of these same physiological cues can be different depending on the individual. So, most people experience the rapid heartbeat and increased breath. Those who find horror films terrifying are certain to have distress.


     Horror movies can cause a wide variety of side-effects depending on the individual. Some noticeable signs of these side-effects on an individual are:
  • Sleeplessness; People might have trouble sleeping at night because of as a result to fear and anxiety from watching a scary movie.
    This is very dangerous to the human brain because we all need rest and sleep.
  • Anxiety;The verity and longitivity of the anxiety entirely depends on the individual. According to research, children under 14 who watched horror movies end up to have increase in the chance of developing anxiety conditions later in adulthood.
    This is because fear experienced when watching is stored in the amygdala, a part of the brain which is responsible for generating emotions.      Other potentially long-term and dangerous side-effects includes:
  • Paranoia
  • Irrotational fears
  • Interest in paranormal or demonology
  • Heart attack
  • Rapid heartbeat
  • Weakness etc
